TESTING COGNITIVE SKILLS
The power of brain training is found in its ability to identify (through testing), target, and then strengthen individual cognitive skills.
We use The Gibson Tests of Cognitive Skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each individual’s unique learning skills .
This is how we make sure everyone gets the best results possible.
Since 80% of all learning struggles are as a result of weak cognitive skills, clearly identifying those weak skills is the first step to finding a lasting solution.
It accurately measures each of the seven individual cognitive skills to determine the cause of processing issues and serves as the foundation for an individualized, effective training strategy that boosts learning and improves performance.
After the Skills Test, we schedule a one-on-one consultation to walk you through the cognitive test results.
Our cognitive testing scores show:
- Age-Equivalent Scores: which measure how well you or your child performed compared to average scores in the same age group.
- Standard Scores: which indicate how far above or below average a learner performs compared to a common scale.
- Percentile Scores: which measure how you or your child performed compared to other learners in the same age group. A percentile score tells you what percentage of the general population the test-taker out-performed.
When we perform a second cognitive assessment after brain training, we will include changes in these scores. That means you can see the skill-by-skill impact of brain training on you or your child!
